The fitness industry sells transformations that last weeks. We coach programs that last years.
Here’s one client from each of our three coaching specialties. Performance is for people who want to do more. Resilience is for people training around something. Longevity is for people who want to feel this good in twenty years. They all had different reasons for walking in, and each hit their goals. Which one resonates with you?
Vadim came to us after tearing his ACL, having surgery, and spending a year trying to rehab it on his own. He kept re-injuring it every few weeks. Between running an international company, raising two daughters, and training jiu jitsu, he didn’t have time for a program that wasn’t working. He’d already done the research, so information wasn’t the problem. What he needed was a program built around jiu jitsu, not a generic post-op protocol. A year in, he sprained the LCL in the same knee. We adjusted his program, rehabbed it here, and he kept training. Three years later, he’s rolling at purple belt and squatting more than he did before surgery.
“It was all custom built for my sport and my injuries. I progressed immediately.”

When Matt started with us, he was dealing with spinal stenosis, herniated discs in his neck and lower back, and nerve damage down his right side. As a senior director running global pension portfolios, he couldn’t afford to lose weeks to a flare-up. He needed a coach who could train around his diagnoses instead of avoiding them. We started with box squats and a safety bar. Three and a half years later, he’s squatting under load again, the weakness in his right side is largely gone, and nerve pain no longer runs his week.
“Much less weakness, much better mobility, and just a much higher quality of life.”

Rebecca is a VP at an investment bank who had never stuck with a workout routine. She started with seated squats and push-ups off a yoga block, and for the first time, the routine stuck. Partway through, she got engaged, and her goal changed: lose body fat and look great in her wedding dress. We coached her nutrition alongside her training, so she lost fat without losing muscle. Two and a half years in, she’s down 15 pounds and doing chin-ups, deadlifts, and boxing. She had her dress fitting this year, well ahead of schedule. The wedding isn’t until next year, and she’s already in the shape she wanted to be in.
“I’ve never enjoyed going to the gym, and I’ve never been able to have a consistent routine…I’ve been a consistent client for two years.”
Rebecca L.
Coach John has been a tremendous asset to my fitness for two years. I came to the gym as a middle aged lifter struggling through injuries from my own bad habits and poor programming. John helped to navigate around these setbacks and enabled me to keep working towards my body recomposition goals. He is immediately responsive, always, and is genuinely invested in both my processes and outcomes. John is one of my best allies in living the strong, competitive, and healthful life I want to live. Unlike all other gyms I have belonged to, I never find myself waiting to use the equipment that I want, when I want it, and the entire team of coaches makes it a special place.
Physical Culture helps me live the life I want to live. Movement has always been a part of my life. I’ve trained in the Martial Arts for over 35 years, run many NYC Marathons, and done CrossFit for almost a decade. In early 2020, I was recovering from chemotherapy and with the start of the pandemic it wasn’t going very well. Once I was connected with their coaches, I started to return to form. The constant check-ins and genuine concern for my wellbeing help me be a better version of myself. The team and facility is top notch. Physical Culture is always evolving to provide the best service possible for its clients. The community is welcoming. I love that I have a place where I workout with my wife and son. As I approach 50, I am continuing to develop athletically and able to do Tae Kwon Do better than ever. Thank you, I am forever grateful.
My journey at Physical Culture has been nothing short of transformative. Not only have the coaches created a motivating and empowering atmosphere, but they’ve also been incredibly supportive during my personal challenges. When I joined, I was a part of a Volleyball League team and unfortunately tore my Achilles. Through the surgery and recovery, Chantel, along with my Physical Therapist, played a pivotal role. Chantel revisited and meticulously adjusted my workouts, focusing on rebuilding the muscles that had atrophied due to the injury. Her expertise and dedication were instrumental in my recovery process. I found myself back on my feet, running, jumping, and lifting heavier weights than ever before. This comeback wouldn’t have been possible without the expertise and encouragement I received at Physical Culture.
